The Union Public Service Commission has cancelled the selection of trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar, who is under investigation for lying about visual and mental disabilities and faking her identity to clear the Civil Services entrance exam. Ms. Khedkar, 23, allegedly changed her parents' names and fraudulently availed attempts beyond the permissible limit. Delhi Police have filed charges including forgery under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and IT Act. The UPSC has issued a show-cause notice to Ms. Khedkar and further actions are pending her response.
