The story revolves around Veerappan, a notorious sandalwood smuggler and ruthless criminal, hunted by a joint effort of three states' police for 20 years. Having killed over 180 people and 2000 elephants, he became a symbol of terror. Despite his heinous acts, Veerappan eluded capture due to his deep knowledge of the forest spread across three states. In 2004, STF officers, led by IPS Vijay Kumar, devised a plan to exploit Veerappan's failing eyesight. They infiltrated his gang, gained his trust, and lured him into an ambulance named Cocoon. In an encounter near a school in Tamil Nadu, surrounded by trucks, Veerappan refused to surrender and opened fire. In a swift operation, the STF retaliated, ending Veerappan's reign of terror in just 20 minutes, marking the demise of a beastly criminal on October 18, 2004.andnbsp;
