It emerged as a power struggle between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Jordan's King Hussein. The PLO established a de facto state within Jordan, leading to tensions and clashes. In September 1970, King Hussein's forces, with support from other Arab countries, launched an offensive to regain control. The conflict resulted in significant casualties and the expulsion of the PLO from Jordan. Black September marked a turning point in the Palestinian struggle, while Jordan reasserted its sovereignty and security. #
