After Aurangzeb’s death in 1707, the mighty Mughal Empire — once the richest and most powerful in the world — began to crumble. The era that followed was marked by political chaos, weak rulers, and a slow but steady decline that ultimately ended with the fall of Bahadur Shah Zafar in 1857. This video explores the untold story of the Mughal Empire’s downfall — from Aurangzeb’s religious policies and endless wars that drained the treasury, to the rise of regional powers like the Marathas, Sikhs, and the British East India Company. After Aurangzeb, emperors such as Bahadur Shah I, Farrukhsiyar, Muhammad Shah ‘Rangeela’, Shah Alam II, and finally Bahadur Shah Zafar tried to hold the empire together, but internal rebellions and British interference made the Mughals mere figureheads. We’ll trace how Delhi — once the symbol of imperial power — turned into a battleground for Nadir Shah’s invasion in 1739 and Ahmad Shah Abdali’s attacks in the mid-18th century. The Battle of Plassey (1757) and the Battle of Buxar (1764) marked the end of Mughal authority and the beginning of British rule in India. By the time Bahadur Shah Zafar became emperor, the Mughals ruled only the Red Fort and a few streets of Delhi. The Revolt of 1857, India’s first war of independence, became the empire’s tragic finale — and with Zafar’s exile to Rangoon, the once-glorious Mughal dynasty came to a complete end. Watch this video till the end to understand how a dynasty that built the Taj Mahal and ruled a subcontinent fell from unmatched grandeur to political oblivion. #mughalempire #mughal #aurangzeb #hindi
