From language to architecture, from food to music, both civilizations influenced each other for centuries. Persian words like “bazaar,” “diwan,” and “kanoon” became part of Indian languages. The grand architecture of the Maurya Empire was inspired by Persian designs like Persepolis. Even cultural elements like samosa, biryani, and classical music have roots in this Indo-Iranian exchange. When Arab invasions destroyed the Sasanian Empire, many Parsis fled to India, where they were welcomed and became an integral part of Indian society.
