Once a vital part of the Mughal Empire, Dhaka was transformed into a flourishing city with grand structures during the reigns of emperors Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, and Aurangzeb. Discover the story behind iconic buildings such as the Bara Katra, built between 1644 and 1646, and Lalbagh Fort, initiated by Muhammad Azam and completed by Shaista Khan. We explore how these structures once symbolized the grandeur of the Mughal era but now lie in a state of neglect and decay.
